Ekspla will be presenting the FemtoLux green, a compact femtosecond fibre laser aimed for both R&D and industrial applications. 

In applications such as multiphoton polymerization, the writing of fibre Bragg gratings, the volume modification of transparent materials, nonlinear microscopy, silicon and sapphire scribing, and marking, a different wavelength to the fundamental output is needed. The FemtoLux green delivers 1.5W at 515nm or 3W at 1,030nm of average power and up to 3μJ femtosecond pulse energy. Sufficient pulse energy is provided while maintaining beam quality. 

The FemtoLux laser provides perfectly linearly polarized light with a polarisation extinction ratio of > 1000:1. 

This enables second harmonic generation with better than 50 per cent efficiency as well as excellent spatial beam and temporal pulse parameters. 

The laser’s fibre-based frontend allows multiple pulse train control functions such as: a wide range of operating pulse repetition rates, individual pulse gating up to 10MHz, burst mode with active burst envelope shaping, real time pulse amplitude control. Pulse duration can also be automatically tuned from 300 fs up to 5 ps. 

Providing more than 3W at 1,030 nm, the FemtoLux green’s reasonably high wall plug efficiency as well as smart heat management enables the laser head to be passively cooled with only ~60 W of heat dissipation when operating at full power.
