Amplitude and Fraunhofer ILT collaborate on ultrafast lasers

Amplitude Systemes has signed a multi-year contract with Fraunhofer ILT to develop high power ultrafast lasers, allowing the two companies to address an emerging demand for higher power instruments in industrial applications.

The agreement will see the development of new technologies and products in the multi-100W range for future industrial applications using Fraunhofer ILT’s high-power laser technology and Amplitude’s industrial laser experience. Previous development projects between Amplitude and Fraunhofer ILT include the Tangor 100W ultrafast laser.

‘As we continue to work together, we look forward to providing industrial users with a new generation of cutting-edge high power ultrafast lasers,’ commented Amplitude in a press release.

Fraunhofer ILT has previously been involved in other collaborations, including one to improve automotive manufacturing with RWTH Aachen University at the end of last year.
