Growth continues for Laser World of Photonics China

Laser World of Photonics China has continued growing in both exhibition space and visitor numbers, the organisers have announced. The conference celebrated its 10th anniversary during this years event, held 17 to 19 March 2015 in Shanghai.

A total of 715 companies from 20 countries exhibited on an exhibition area of 36,960 square meters. In the three days, 40,291 industry professionals visited the trade fair. 2,334 participants also attended the conferences held simultaneously under the title of Photonics Congress China.

Dr Reinhard Pfeiffer, deputy CEO of Messe München International, responsible for the Laser World of Photonics international network, praised the achievements of the Chinese platform: ‘Laser World of Photonics China has successfully developed into one of the most important trade fairs in Asia for both international and Chinese companies.’

According to Pfeiffer, another key factor is the strong presence of foreign companies: ‘The 22 per cent increase in international exhibitors in the anniversary year 2015 demonstrates the high interest of international laser and photonics manufacturers in the Chinese market.’ But there was also strong representation of home grown companies, including Han’s, HG, Focuslight, Huaray, Raycus, Max, Delphi, Golden Laser and Huineng.

In the past 10 years, Laser World of Photonics China has grown significantly both in terms of its quantity and quality. The number of exhibitors has soared from 163 in 2006 to 715 in 2015, and the exhibition area has increased from 6,000 to 36,960 square meters. Visitor numbers are also growing continuously: starting with 8,557 visitors in 2006, Laser World of Photonics China was able to attract 40,291 visitors in 2015.

Focusing on four major areas: lasers and photonics, laser processing, optics and optical manufacturing, imaging and testing, Laser World of Photonics China has now become the one of the largest laser, photonics and optics event in Asia. At the first Laser World of Photonics China in 2006, the exhibited products were mostly lasers, parts and laser marking machines; but over the past few years, the trade fair has constantly introduced advanced laser technologies and their applications into China. Through product exhibitions, academic communication and the exchange of know-how, the trade show has supported the development of the laser industry in China and the upgrade and transformation in application industries.

In 2015, Laser World of Photonics China was again committed to providing the best laser solutions and focused on laser processing in industry applications. It covered laser applications in automotive, metal processing, shipbuilding, aerospace, military and defence, manufacturing, material processing, automation, mould, plastics and electronics. In this age of Smart Manufacturing, the trade fair acted as an important platform for people to become acquainted with trends such as automation, visualisation, remote control and minimisation.

The next Laser World of Photonics China will be held on March 15-17, 2016 at the Shanghai New International Expo Center.
