Spectrum Technologies has won a contract to supply the 300th Capris 50-100PCS UV laser wire marking system ever sold. Capris 50-100 number 300 was delivered in May 2014 to Boeing Defence UK based at RAF Odiham in Hampshire, for work on Chinook helicopters, and becomes the 47th product from the Spectrum Technologies portfolio to be sold to Boeing globally.
The company said in a press release: ÔÇÿReaching serial number 300 is a significant milestone in the Capris 50-100ÔÇÖs lifetime and solidifies its position as the most widely sold UV laser wire marker in the world, bar none.ÔÇÖ
The Capris 50-100PCS was introduced in 2003 as a entry-level benchtop UV laser wire marking system, aimed at maintenance repair and overhaul work, avionics and other low volume aerospace and defence wire harness manufacturing applications.
Dr Peter Dickinson, CEO of Spectrum Technologies, said ÔÇÿWe are absolutely delighted that our number one customer over time, Boeing, has placed this order and will be the recipient of our 300th Capris 50-100.ÔÇÖ
ÔÇÿThe Capris 50-100 was envisaged as the worldÔÇÖs first benchtop wire marker and as a low cost system to facilitate low volume users to replace older hot stamp wire markers that were found to cause serious damage when marking aerospace wires. Demand for these systems has been very firm this year and it is especially pleasing to reach this landmark number of 300 and that it should go to Boeing.ÔÇÖ
