LASYS postponed until 2022

LASYS, the international trade fair for laser material processing, has been postponed until 21-23 June 2022.

This is both due to the increasing prevalence of the new coronavirus, in addition to measures taken by the Baden-Württemberg State Government, which prevents all gatherings and events with more than 100 participants taking place up until 15 June 2020.

While LASYS was originally set to take place from 16 to 18 June, stand construction for would have to have taken place before then – thus breaching the 100-person limit.

The news follows closely behind the recent cancellation of AKL'20, hosted by Fraunhofer ILT.

'We attach maximum priority to the health of exhibitors, visitors, supporters and employees of the trade fair,' said Thomas Walter, vice president of industry and technology and a member of the Board of Management of Messe Stuttgart, organisers of LASYS. 'We want to offer exhibitors, project partners and visitors planning security and use alternative formats to bridge the waiting time up to the next trade fair date in 2022.'

As a result, two new 'LASYS meets' events have been organised on both:

  • 'Laser material processing in and for medical technology'
  • 'Laser system solutions and applications for tool, pattern and mould making'

The events will be held during the 'T4M – Technology for Medical Devices', trade Fair on 4-6 May 2021, and during 'Moulding Expo', the international trade fair for tool, pattern and mould making on 8-11 June 2021.

LASYS is the only international trade fair which consistently focuses on system solutions for laser material processing. Since the start of the trade fair in 2008, it has become successfully established as a user platform for laser system solutions and applications. LASYS covers all industries and materials, and is primarily aimed at decision-makers from international industry.
