Trumpf UK’s senior management team has seen three new appointments recently following the departure of managing director Annette Doyle, who has left the company to continue her career with Trumpf US in Farmington.
Trumpf UK recorded an unprecedented order intake from 2016 to 2017, a trend which has continued and is expected reach a value of more than £52 million at the end of this financial year.
As of 1 July Lee Moakes has become the new managing director of the company. Moakes has been Trumpf UK’s technical director since 2014 and has overseen the implementation of several customer-focused initiatives that have increased the quality of after-sales support.
‘From a personal perspective, my story shows that there is opportunity for progression for all employees working within Trumpf whether this be locally or internationally,’ he commented. ‘I have been given so much encouragement along the way and will soon be completing my master’s degree in finance to complement my engineering skills.’
Moakes joined Trumpf in 2000 as a laser service engineer and has steadily climbed the management ladder, progressing through project management to become general manager for after sales with Trumpf India before returning to a senior management role in the UK four years ago.
Gerry Jones has also been appointed as Trumpf UK’s new sales director. Jones’s career with Trumpf UK started in 1994 in laser sales, and he too has risen through the ranks to manage the national sales team for both lasers and systems.
‘The continual development of our products and technologies brings new opportunities to our customers, allowing us to grow together,’ he said. ‘There is no sign of this slowing down, in fact with more exciting developments to come, there is plenty to look forward to.’
Moakes and Jones have worked together for many years and have helped introduce a strong and capable middle management team for Trumpf UK to support the company's continued expansion.
The third new member of the senior management team is Juergen Herr, who is also a long-time Trumpf employee with eighteen years’ service to his name. As the new finance director, Juergen, together with his team, will ensure Trumpf UK continues to provide customers with dedicated financial solutions via the Trumpf Bank.
With the new appoinments the new senior management team of Trumpf UK has a combined 60 years of Trumpf experience across several countries.
