3D-Micromac celebrates 15th anniversary and opens new building

German laser micromachining firm 3D-Micromac AG celebrated its 15th year of existence on September 7, 2017. At the same time, 3D-Micromac opened its newly constructed main building with a ceremonial event for customers, business partners and employees. In addition to the anniversary and inauguration ceremony in the evening, the company welcomed laser experts to the in-house trade fair ILaCoS during the day, which offered expert lectures and workshops dealing with current topics in laser micro-machining.

"We owe our company's growth and success to our customers and partners who have relied on our expertise and performance right from the start," explained Tino Petsch, CEO of 3D-Micromac AG. "But such a successful development would not have been possible without the outstanding commitment and top efforts of all employees. That is why we are delighted to be able to celebrate the anniversary and opening of the new building together with our team."

Innovative room and workplace concepts with communicative open space elements have been realized in the modern building, which meet employee needs. The building is completed by conference areas as well as a customer application center where 3D-Micromac customers have the opportunity to convince themselves on-site of the innovative laser technologies and high-precision laser systems. Great attention was paid to maximum energy efficiency with maximum utilization of natural resources when planning the building. In addition to using a photovoltaic power generation system, an automatic ventilation system and heat pump system are also used, which are automatically used to heat or passively cool the building.

The company invested nearly six million euros into buildings and equipment. The number of employees is also to be expanded further. The company was founded in Chemnitz with six employees in 2002 and now currently employs around 200 employees at the Chemnitz location. To make room for further growth, the company moved its registered office to the premises of the Chemnitz Smart Systems Campus in 2009. 3D-Micromac has now constructed a corporate complex there consisting of four buildings.

Founded in 2002, 3D-Micromac AG is the industry leader in laser micromachining, delivering powerful, user-friendly and leading edge processes with superior production efficiency. We develop processes, machines and turnkey solutions at the highest technical and technological level. 3D-Micromac systems and services have been successfully implemented in various high-tech industries worldwide including photovoltaic, semiconductor, glass and display industries, micro diagnostics, and medical technology.
