Berliner Glas appoints new managing director of operations

Thomas Polzer has been appointed the new Managing Director Operations at the Berliner Glas Group. He strengthens the previous management team consisting of Dr. Andreas Nitze and David Schwem. Thomas Polzer is responsible for Operations and, together with the two existing managing directors, he will take responsibility for the company’s success and the further growth of its market position.

“Berliner Glas has shown an impressive development in recent years,” explains the new Executive Vice President Operations & COO Thomas Polzer. “I look forward to actively shaping the future course of the company. I see my primary tasks creating the necessary framework conditions for an optimal production process and continuing the previous profitable growth of Berliner Glas.”

Thomas Polzer has many years of extensive experience in global operations management from his previous work in the optical, opto-electronic, and semiconductor industries at various locations both in Germany and around the world. He holds an MBA in corporate management in addition to a mechanical engineering degree.

“The expansion of the executive management team with Thomas Polzer is another forward-looking milestone for the entire Berliner Glas Group,” explains CEO Dr. Andreas Nitze. “With him, we gained a proven expert in the area of operations who will support us to further implement our growth strategy.”
