Coherent hosts annual PhotonicNet Symposium

Coherent Goettingen hosted the annual PhotonicNet Symposium ‘Surface Processing’ earlier this month, centered around laser solutions for processing and growth of thin films. For fifteen years, researchers and industrial laser users have gathered in the context of this event, in order to discuss the latest surface technology trends.

This year’s workshop was followed by a factory tour through the recently expanded cleanroom production premises for large line beam systems assembly and testing.

‘Our Symposium has developed into a platform driving the exchange of ideas between laser users and manufacturers in the area of selective surface processing.  Its continued success is noticeable by the increasing number of international attendees’, noted Dr. Thomas Fahlbusch from PhotonicNet.

Excellent talks, spirited discussions and a large attendance was the outcome of this year’s workshop at Coherent in Goettingen. The intent of the 2019 workshop in Goettingen is to successfully awaken to the European photonics group.
