Laser galvanometer interface

Delta Tau has released a laser galvanometer interface for its Power PMAC motion controllers. The device simplifies and improves controls for laser scanning applications, including laser marking, PCB processing, micromachining and medical device manufacturing.
The interface is based on the laser industry’s XY2-100 communication standard. It allows a single motion controller running a unified program to take over every aspect of a laser scanning process.

The MLD and MMLD range

Acal BFi, the European leader in advanced technology solutions, have launched a new range of ultra-high performance femtosecond laser mirrors to the market

German Specialist Blackbird Robotersysteme Establishes Shanghai Site

SCANLAB AG's subsidiary Blackbird Robotersysteme GmbH, the world leader for innovative remote laser welding solutions, announces the establishment of a sales and service center in Shanghai, China. The company's growth strategy and closer proximity to existing customers and installations were key motivators in creating a Chinese subsidiary. On March 1, 2015, Derek Wang will begin organizing the site as Vice President Sales and Technical Support Asia, Blackbird Robotics Asia.

D-20 XY galvanometer scan head

Nutfield Technology has released its latest product, the D-20 XY galvanometer scan head. A fully digital, encoder-based scan head, the D-20 is ideal for applications requiring the highest levels of accuracy as well as stability.

Because the D-20 XY is a high-resolution, encoder-based scan head, it is extremely accurate and is able to operate in areas where insensitivity to environmental factors is essential. This makes it ideal for use in areas such as micromachining, laser drilling, laser welding, laser ablation, and precision scribing.

basiCube 10

A new product from SCANLAB AG is stirring up the laser-marking field. As a "little brother" to the time-proven SCANcube, SCANLAB's new basiCube 10 scan head is specifically optimized for classic laser-marking requirements. Developed and manufactured in Germany, basiCube sports the newest technology and an exceptional price/performance ratio. These advantages and high dynamic performance add up to superior cost-effectiveness for equipment integrators and top laser-marking productivity for users.

intelliSCAN III 20

Scanlab has announced a new scan head to be introduced at the Photonics West tradeshow in San Francisco, USA. The new intelliSCAN III 20 has long-term stability and low drift, making the 20mm aperture scan head ideally suited for such large-image-field applications as 3D printing and laser cutting.

Laser processing head with smarts

A new beam tool developed by Limo as part of a research project has led to a new compact laser head with a zoom function. This delivers a processing flexibility capable of handling a wide range of surface types.

Pulse Selector IOM

A new generation of pulse selectors makes Jenoptik modulators easier to control and increases their efficiency.

YW52 welding head

At the Lasys show, Precitec presented the YW52 welding head with controlled weld position and weld seam width.

The integrated ScanTracker uses the welding optics to coaxially measure the joint in lateral and axial direction only a few millimetres in front of the TCP. The position acquired is immediately transferred to the controllable deflection mirror and a preselected scan amplitude and frequency is then overlaid.

UHSS laser deflection system

Raylase has released its UHSS laser deflection system with speeds of 200m/sec.

The Raylase UHSS enables companies to scan their usual work areas quickly and very precisely. For example, companies can use an F-theta lens with a focal length of f = 254mm to scan a field measuring 160mm x 160mm.These capabilities open up new applications such as perforation, cutting and scribing at high speeds.
