MKS Instruments subsidary Spectra-Physics has introduced the Spirit 1030-140, an industrial femtosecond hybrid fibre laser that delivers over 140W power and over 600µJ pulse energy with 400fs infrared pulses.

With adjustable repetition rates from single shot up to 30MHz, and user-configurable burst mode operation, the new laser is ideal for high throughput, high-quality micromachining of polymers, thin metals, sapphire, polycrystalline diamond and many other materials for consumer electronics, medical device and industrial applications.

The Spirit 1030-140 offers exceptional beam quality and includes an integrated pulse picker for single-pulse selection and fast power control for high process throughput. It offers continuos industrial reliability and a low cost of ownership.
