Global stainless steel manufacturer boosts production with new laser installation

Global leader in stainless steel manufacturing, Outokumpu, has significantly increased production after replacing two lasers with one bespoke Kimla laser cutting machine. 

For the past 15 years Outokumpu has been running three CO2 laser machines to fulfil its cutting needs. Working with MBA Engineering, a supplier of leading laser cutting and metal fabrication equipment, the team identified a requirement to update its metal cutting capabilities function.

IPG Photonics invests £15 million in new UK headquarters

US fibre laser manufacturer IPG Photonics has invested £15 million in its new UK headquarters, which it is bulding in Coventry.

The new 50,000 sq ft site, set to open by 2020, is located in Ansty Park and will create 30 new jobs.

The new centrally-located site will allow IPG Photonics to play an integral role in accelerating laser-based manufacturing in the UK, whilst bringing new innovations and solutions to its growing, global customer base.
